JAMMU, Nov 25: State Mahila Congress  and District Congress Committee (DCC), Jammu members today held separate demonstrations in Jammu city and also courted arrest, in protest against the BJP and its leadership for not taking action against its two tainted ministers and failure to minimize miseries of the public after demonetization exercise.
District Congress Committee Jammu (Urban) held a protest demonstration and senior Congress leaders and activists courted arrests over the issue of demonetization causing hardship to the general public without adequate arrangements besides seeking exposure and action against BJP ministers allegedly involved in corrupt practices as surfaced in media.
A large number of Congress workers and leaders  led by  District president Jammu (U) Anil Chopra, PCC  vice-president Kanta Bhan, general secretaries Yogesh Sawhney,  Manmohan Singh,  secretaries Pawan Raina, Sanjeev Sharma, and Manjit Singh  Jatt took out protest march from Mahesh Pura Chowk,  Bakshi Nagar Jammu towards Civil Secretariat. They raised slogans against Modi Govt for demonetization without adequate preparation as a result common people are suffering a lot and facing hardships to meet their day today requirements resulting into no. of deaths. They also demanded that BJP Ministers allegedly involved in corrupt practices, be exposed and sacked .
The protesters marched towards Civil Secretariat and were prevented by heavy contingent of police and were taken into custody. The senior leaders and over 100 prominent activists courted arrest. They were, however, released in the afternoon.
Pradesh Mahila Congress activists led by State president and former MLA Indu Pawar organized a protest demonstration near Press Club seeking removal of two BJP ministers.
Protesting women activists were raising slogans against ill planned steps taken by Modi Govt after demonetization exercise which has affected students, daily labour class, house wives, service class and businessmen and others. Unending queues at the banks are still continue.  Elderly, females are the worst sufferers. Such ill planned step has put every section of the society in difficulty and end may not be known to the Prime Minister, who is busy in reading on line survey only. The situation in rural areas amongst farmers is also not so good. She appealed to the Central Govt to arrange adequate cash for every customer of Bank, Post Offices and Rural Co-operative Banks.
Pawar said that BJP leadership and State Govt led by Mehbooba Mufti should expose the names of the ministers and take action against them as per law of the land. BJP Govt led by Modi  is claiming to provide clean and transparent Govt on the other hand its own ministers are involved in the scandals worth crores and the Govt agencies are trying to hush up the case. She demanded that both the ministers should be sacked which are involved in Rs 13 crore real estate scandal & seizure of Rs 5 crore from a security escort vehicle of BJP Minister by police in Jammu.
Vandana Makhnotra, Rita, Santosh Sharma, Geeta Dogra, Sunita Rajput, Bhupinder Kour and others accompanied the Ex-MLA.
