JAMMU, Nov 25: Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) in its endevour to reach every nook and corner of the State launched 5 kg free trade LPG cylinders at Maa Vaishno Devi Gas Agency Channi Himmat.
The inaugural ceremony was graced by LPG Territory Manager and Head of LPG J&K and Himachal Pradesh Surinder Dogra, Territory Manager Retail J&K Rajesh Sharma and Manager Sales LPG SK Dutta.
Manager Lube Sales J&K Mayur Mehta, Territory Co-ordinator Retail MA Wani, President Hotel and Restaurant Association, Katra Rakesh Wazir, Assistant Manager R&C OP Langay, Former MLA Balwan Singh, Rakesh Verma, Sumeet Mahajan and Tavinder Kaur were also present on the occasion.
Surinder Dogra while speaking on the occasion said that the scheme will prove to be a blessing in disguise for small establishments having less consumption of gas and want to have that immediately without having their permanent gas connection and without any proof of residence.
He further said that with the launch of this scheme the dependence of the people on the other sources of energy including wood and kerosene oil will lower down and the precious trees, forests and other natural resources destruction will be saved.
Rajesh Sharma and SK Dutta while speaking said that this is a good move by the Government and the company and people should avail this facility and should procure these cylinders to its maximum. He further said that these cylinders will be available very shortly at every nook and corner of the State due to its easy availability and light weight.
Rakesh Wazir while speaking said that this step will reduce the pollution level. He added that with this scheme will provide benefits to small energy users including rehries, kiosks and small shops. The scheme would act as facilitator to the tourism sector as well, he stated.
