Deputation submits memo of demands to Sheep Husbandry Secretary

JAMMU, Nov 26 :A deputation of All J&K Sheep and Wool Workers’ Association (SWWA) led by Ashok Badyal, its Jammu province president, today met Secretary, Animal/Sheep Husbandry Department and submitted a charter of demands.
The main demand highlighted in the memorandum was providing ownership rights of Government rams to the breeders  to whom the rams are issued on permanent basis, after getting 50% (subsidized) cost of the rams after they retain the rams continuously for 3 years so as to avoid inbreeding and minimize the mortality rate in Government livestock.
Other demands like clearance of pending time bound promotion cases of all non-gazetted field staff, two and a half days extra pay for the employees, enhancement of rent of Sheep Centers and filling up vacant posts in various cadres in the department were also highlighted in the memorandum.
The Secretary gave a patient hearing to the delegation and assured for an early redressal of the genuine grievances of the employees.
