Mehjoor inaugurates skill development center for women

JAMMU, Nov 28: Chairperson J&K State Women Commission, Nayeema Ahmed Mehjoor today inaugurated a skill development center for women at village Nardani, Raipur Bantalab.
Nayeema was accompanied by the members of the Commission, Kavita Suri, Gulzara Masoodi and Secretary, Aijaz Abdullah. The function was organized by Aash Foundation.
Addressing the gathering, Chairperson urged the women to avail the benefits of such centers to make them self-reliant by establishing their income generating skill units for which various schemes have been launched by the Centre and State Governments to uplift women folk of weaker sections.
While interacting with the Chairperson, women of the area put forth their grievances and demands including posting of doctor at PHC, toilet, fans and water cooler in Anganwari center of the village.
Responding to the demands of the women, Nayeema assured them that their demands will be taken care-off and their grievances will be taken up with the concerned authorities for early redressal. Chairperson also distributed gifts among the girl students of the area.
