Jammu, Nov 29: Demanding quota for Jammu and Ladakh regions, Akhil Bharatiya Vidhyarthi Parishad (ABVP) has accused J&K Public Service Commission (JKPSC) of being biased and discriminatory towards Jammu based candidates in recently released selection list of Assistant Professors in the Higher Education Department.
Addressing media persons, here today, ABVP State joint secretary Abhinav Pandotra alleged that preference has been given to aspirants from Kashmir province in recently released selection lists in subjects like History, Biotechnology, and MCA and earlier in Physics and English. “After short listing of candidates for the interviews, majority of aspirants were from Jammu province but after general selection list is released, the scenario is different where Kashmir aspirants were selected in majority,” he explained. Abhinav said that the open category candidates are the worst sufferers as most of the selected candidates from open category are from Kashmir province. “Apart from this, the malafide intent of JKPSC can be gauged from the fact that even deserving category candidates were debarred from their right to compete in open category just to accommodate more aspirants from Kashmir province,” he said and demanded quota of seats or general category students from Jammu and Ladakh regions.
