JAMMU, Nov 29: Jammu & Kashmir Agriculture Technocrats Association has expressed its serious concern over unprecedented delay in releasing salary of 2nd Phase and 3rd Phase of VAEAs.
In this connection, a meeting of the Association was held, here today under the chairmanship of Dr Surinder Radotra, State president of JKATA, who warned agitation if the State Government fails to immediately release salary of agriculture technocrats VAEA.
“JKATA will resort to agitational path by observing indefinite fast to awaken the Government,” he said and added that most of 2nd and 3rd phase VAEAs have been posted outside their native districts because of no salary for the last 18 months, they were facing difficulties to pay rent of the accommodation near place of posting or pay fare for reaching the office.
“Agriculture technocrats, who can change destiny of the country by bringing a new green revolution are themselves socially and economically downtrodden,” Dr Radotra said and added that Basic Data Survey (Agriculture Land census), by the Agriculture Department, is being done by VAEAs, who are spending from their own pockets for the stationary.
Dr Radotra appealed the Minister for agriculture, Ghulam Nabi Lone Hanjura, FC / Commissioner Secy APD Parmood Jain, Director Finance Civil Sectt, Srinagar and Director Agriculture Jammu A K Malhotra to intervene in the matter for release of salary of VAEAs.
