Lal Singh convenes public darbar

KATHUA, Oct 7:  The Member Parliament Udhampur- Doda Constituency Ch. Lal Singh convened a public darbar   to listen to the demands and problems of the people and ensure their immediate redressal.
The Panchayats representatives put forth their demands and problems, which were mostly related to drinking water and power supply, road connectivity, supply of ration, cases of old aged pension and demand for fresh BPL survey.
Ch Lal Singh listened to the demands and problems of the people patiently and assured their redressal on   priority basis.
Addressing the people, MP Ch. Lal Singh  said that as per  practice Shahidi Diwas will be organized at Shahidi Chowk Kathua to pay the homage to the martyrs of district Kathua who laid their lives for safeguarding the boundaries of the country. He said that families of the martyrs will be invited on Shahidi Diwas and honoured for their contribution towards national interests. He said that UPA Government at the Centre headed by Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh was committed to the development and progress of the country.
He said that several schemes and programme have been launched by the UPA Government for the welfare of the people like National Rural Health Mission, MNREGA, IAY, Old Age Pension, Widow Pension etc. He appealed the people to come forward to avail the benefit of these Centrally and State sponsored schemes.
He said that announcement of Block Development Council election was a major step of the Coalition Government to strengthen the Panchayati Raj in the State to reach the deeper into the public for their welfare. He said that real goal of democracy can   be realized only by the establishment of a vibrant Panchayati Raj in the State.
