DODA, Nov 30: Plus 2 Contractual Lecturers have demanded regularization of their services as they are working since long period in different schools of the State.
The demand was raised during a meeting of 10+2 Contractual Lecturers Association, held here today under the chairmanship of Asif Iqbal and Nayem-ul-Ah,
While speaking on the occasion, Asif explained that they have been working as lecturers in plus 2 institutions across Jammu and Kashmir State since 1998 and during the period of their services, some of them have crossed the upper age limit, required for Government services while some others are nearing the same. “Upto 2003, we were appointed on academic arrangement basis vide different Govt order nos 816 edu of 1998, 1345 of 1998 and 553 edu of 2000 by proper procedure, proper advertisement and selection made on merit basis. In July 2003, on the eve of up gradation of schools, Govt framed a policy for the regularization of our services after rendering three years of service vide Govt order no 1301 edu of 2003 dated 31-07-2003, but this order was later modified vide Govt order no 1584 edu of 2003 dated 21-10-2003, in which it is mentioned that academic arrangement is upto April 2004 and in future all such arrangements will be made on contractual basis and that order was endorsed by the GAD, Director School Education Jammu/Srinagar, all the CEO’S and Principals of the schools” he recalled.
However, he added, despite repeated requests, neither their case was referred to the empowered committee nor their salaries were drawn as per contractual rules vide Govt order no 1661 GAD of 2010. “It is very unfortunate that we people are getting salary less than our Class IV employees”, he said and urged the Government to regularize their services as soon as possible and also enhance their salary.
Others, who spoke on the occasion, included Nayem, Mohd Tufail, Asgar Hussain, Mohd Irfan, Sandip Singh, Irshad Ahmad, Pardip Singh and Adil Hussein.
