JAMMU, Dec 2: Speaker Legislative Assembly Kavinder Gupta today launched construction work for tiling of lanes and up-gradation of drains at a function held at Ward No. 57, Model Town, Gangyal.
The project is being executed by Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) at an estimated cost of Rs 4.5 lakh.
This work is part of JMC’s initiative to undertake constant development works of immediate nature in all wards under the Corporation.
While speaking on the occasion, the Speaker said this was a long pending demand of the people and would solve the issues of sanitation in the area. He said all the developmental initiatives will be fast-paced so that these vital projects are completed in a time bound manner. He sought cooperation from the people in ensuring speedy development of their areas and asked them to come forward and personally supervise the quality of works.
The Speaker directed the engineers to strictly maintain the quality of works as per the specifications and complete the same in a time bound manner.
Speaker while addressing the residents assured them of Government’s commitment to the development of the State. He said that many restoration, renovation and construction projects for the area are in pipeline and will soon be executed.
