National seminar on Vedas begins

JAMMU, Dec 3:  A two-day national seminar on the Vedas began today at Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan, Shri Ranbir Campus, Jammu.
Rajguru Mahamandaleshwar Shri Shri 1008, Shri Swami Vishwatmananda Saraswati ji Maharaj of Shivakashi, Sundarbani was the chief guest on the occasion. The function was presided over by Principal of the Campus, Prof Ramanuja Devanathan.
In his address, Swami Vishwatmanand Saraswati said that it is through the understanding of Vedas that the self-realization is possible. “Today, everybody is troubled with all kinds of tension but nobody realizes the true cause of his tension. Actually, they have been ensnared by the Vishayas,” he said and stressed for spiritual upliftment.
In his presidential address, Prof. Ramanuja Devanathan said that the Vedas are the root of all the knowledge of the universe. “The Shastras were created for the protection and promotion of the Vedas. Listening to Vedapatha for just ten minutes can lead to transformation of man,” he said.
Earlier, Dr D Dayanatha of the Department of Veda presented welcome address while. Dr Deepak Kumar Sharma recited the Vaidik Manglacharna.
