College students seek deferment of exams

Srinagar, Dec 3: Over a dozen college students today staged a protest and blocked vital Residency Road here for traffic as they were seeking deferment of examinations till March next year.
The protesting students, majority of them females, appeared on busy Residency Road near Press Enclave and started sloganeering. The students said their examinations have been scheduled in December and January but due to unrest and closure of colleges they have not completed their syllabus.
The students said while the Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education granted concession and mass promotion to students, the Kashmir University which conducts the college exams has not issued any such relaxation for Under Graduates. Seeking deferment of exams till March, the students said they need time to prepare and month of March would be feasible for their exams.
