JAMMU, Dec 3: The protest dharna and strike of All Jammu Province Casual/ Need Based Workers Union today entered 104th consecutive day today.
The protest dharna and strike was launched under the leadership of Akhil Sharma, state president and Shesh Kumar provincial president of the Union. They pointed out that even after 104 days the concerned PDD authorities have failed to address the pending issues of the workers. No decision on the regularization has been taken and even the separate salary head has not been created despite assurance by the senior officers of the department.
They pointed out that the process of biometric has also not completed. They demanded that pending wages of the workers be released. They stressed for insurance policy of the workers and compensation in case of accident death of workers or getting handicapped while at work.
