One killed, another injured in road mishaps

KATHUA, Dec 3: One person died and another was injured in two separate road accidents in Kathua district today. While the PDD Lineman who was injured seriously at National Highway after he was hit by a Punjab Roadways bus succumbed to his injuries in GMC Jammu today.
According to reports a youth identified as Nitish Basotra 18, S/O Shiv Dutt Basotra of Guda Kalyal died after his motorcycle was hit by an unknown vehicle near his village today.
He was shifted to the Ramkote Hospital by the locals but succumbed to his injuries in the way. His body has been kept in Ramkote Hospital for postmortem which will be conducted tomorrow and later it will be handed over to family for cremation. The Ramkote Police Post has registered a case under Section 304 RPC in this regard.
Meanwhile the lineman identified as Kishore Kumar of Goivindsar Kathua who was seriously injured after he was hit by a Punjab Roadways bus yesterday at Jammu-Pathankot National Highway near Kathua breathed his last in GMC Jammu this morning.
In another accident a woman was seriously injured after the motorcycle on which she was travelling along with her husband skidded off the road at Kathua town today. She has been identified as Kamlesh, wife of Sohan Singh. Police said Sohan Singh lost control on the bike and it skidded off the road resulting into serious injury to Kamlesh. She was first taken to District Hospital Kathua but seeing her condition critical doctors referred her to GMC Jammu for specialized treatment.
Kathua Police has registered a case under Section 279/337 RPC.
Meanwhile a 18 year boy consumed some poisonous substance at the residence of her sister in Ward No 1 Kathua today and he was immediately rushed to GMC Jammu for treatment.
He was identified as Hemat, S/O Krishan Lal resident of Tholiti Rajbagh in Kathua district. The cause of this extreme step taken by him was not known. Kathua Police has registered a case under relevant sections of law in this regard.
