UDHAMPUR, Dec 8: Police today seized 13 kg poppy straw, which was being smuggled in a truck from Kashmir. Police also seized the truck and arrested its driver along with his accomplice, both brothers.
The truck, bearing registration number PB10BP-7321, was intercepted during a surprise naka at Jakheni Chowk. During thorough search of the said truck, 13 kg poppy straw was recovered following which Police seized the truck as well as the consignment.
The arrested accused were identified as Buta Singh and his brother Gulab Singh, sons of Arjun Singh of Pogu Pura Kapurtala (Punjab).
A case under Section 8/15 NDPS act has been registered in the connection at Police Station Udhampur.
