JAMMU, Dec 8: Awareness Camp on Financial Literacy-cum-Digital Banking was organized at village Kotli Jawobal, Arnia, a village adopted by Punjab National Bank (PNB), Branch Arnia on Indo-Pak border.
The camp was organized under the guidance of Bikram Singh Raina, DGM, Circle Head, PNB, J&K Circle.
The proceedings of the programme were conducted by Aswini Kumar Behera, Branch Head.
Large number of farmers, women and ex-servicemen of the village took part in the camp who were made aware by Kali Dass, Financial Literacy Counsellor, PNB regarding Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana, PMSBY, PMJJBY, PM Atal Pension Yojana, etc. Digital Banking products like Debit card, UPI App, bank wallets and benefits of net banking were explained for their benefits.
Haris Manzoor, Agriculture Officer of the bank explained in detail to the participants about KCC and allied schemes like dairy farming and vegetables cultivation.
SP Sharma, District Coordinator, PNB Circle Office, Jammu guided the participants about the various loan schemes launched by the Government and benefits of digital banking.
Arun Magotra, Tehsildar, Arnia Tehsil was the chief guest on the occasion, who while speaking advocated for the opening of saving accounts by each and every individual in the area and also the use of debit cards for taking the benefit of various schemes launched by the Central and State Governments.
Avtar Singh, Sarpanch requested the bank to hold such camps in future also for the benefit of the population. He also presented the vote of thanks.
