JAMMU, Dec 10: The relatives and neighbours of the youth, who died around midnight of December 9 following a road mishap at Talab Tillo, held a protest demonstration and blocked the busy Talab Tillo road for about two hours demanding proper traffic regulation on Talab Tillo road and severe punishment for violators of traffic rules.
According to reports, the victim identified as Aman, son of Babu Ram, resident of Gole Panj Pir (Talab Tillo), received serious internal injuries in a road mishap on Friday when he got trapped between two moving mini-buses from one of which he was hanging on the door. He was immediately shifted to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries around midnight.
Today morning, the family members, relatives and neighbours of the deceased youth blocked Talab Tillo road at Gole Puli for about two hours and raised slogans against traffic police for their failure to curb rash driving by drivers of mini-buses. They were demanding strict enforcement of traffic rules and severe punishment for its violators.
The protesters disrupted the traffic movement on the busy Talab Tillo road for about two hours by holding demonstration and burning old tyres of vehicles on the road.
Later, senior police officers reached the spot and pacified the protesters. On their assurance, protesters dispersed and lifted the blockade.
According to Incharge, police post Talab Tillo, Rahul Mahajan, they have already registered a case under relevant sections and arrested the drivers of both the mini-buses involved in the mishap.
