Reese Witherspoon teams up with Nick Kroll for ‘Shake It Off’

LOS ANGELES, Dec 11: Oscar-winning actress Reese Witherspoon has collaborated with comedian Nick Kroll for an EDM rendition of singer Taylor Swift’s pop hit “Shake It Off”.
The 40-year-old star is making the song for the soundtrack of upcoming animated film “Sing”, reported Billboard.
The 2-minute rendition sets off with Witherspoon’s vocal as she sings, “I stay out too late, got nothing in my brain/ That’s what people say, that’s what people say”, while Kroll continues singing, “I go on too many dates, but I can’t make them stay/ At least that’s what people say, that’s what people say.”
“People will already know a lot of songs in the film. And with that you always run the risk of failing when covers are compared to the originals. However, we’ve done some unique things here so that people hopefully will walk away thinking of these as new songs,” “Sing” soundtrack producer Harvey Mason, Jr said.
The duo’s “Shake It Off” joins previously released “Set It All Free”, a song performed by Scarlett Johansson.
The film is set for December 21 release in the US theatres. (PTI)
