MUMBAI : Composers Sachin-Jigar, who will be composing music for Shraddha Kapoor starrer “Haseena”, say they might make the actress sing in the film if an opportunity arises.
“Haseena” is a biopic on underworld don Dawood Ibrahim’s sister Haseena Parkar. The film, helmed by Apoorva Lakhia, stars Shraddha in title role. Her actor brother Siddhant will essay the part of Dawood Ibrahim.
“If there is something that crops up where we feel Shraddha can add value we will rope her in. We don’t know yet if there is a requirement but of course given an opportunity, we will make sure that she sings and that too in a brand new avatar,” Sachin-Jigar said.
For the duo, the film is a challenge as they haven’t done anything of this kind before.
“We agreed to do “Haseena” to set a new parameter for ourselves, to understand if we could deliver a film which is out of our comfort zone, something which is not a trademark Sachin Jigar sound,” they said.
“Even though the songs are predictable the genre of music is edgy and not typically commercial. It’s a test for us to bring out our inner gangster or demon to speak,” they said.
“Haseena” will chronicle the journey of Haseena from her teenage to the time she turns 40-year-old.
“The film pans across a certain period and the brief was to cater to that era but not making it sound (out) dated. We are just retaining the vibe of the era but keeping the lyrics and the sound more new age. We are going to fuse a few elements which can transport listeners back to a forgotten era in a relevant atmosphere,” Sachin-Jigar said. (AGENCIES)
