JAMMU, Oct 8: Arohi Sangeet Vidyalaya organised a Musical programme through lecture cum demonstration at Naveen Shiksha Kendra High School, Channi Himmat.
On the occasion, Dr Padmini Tikoo, in her lecture explained in detail the significance of capacity building, stress and strain management through string waves of sitar in a classical way and then demonstrated by presenting it through Raga Ahir Bhairav in the way of Alap, Jodh, Jhalla with Maseetkhani and Razakhani gats in teental followed by Bharvi Dhun.
Dr Tikoo was accompanied by her disciples Chitvan Gupta and Ashish Khokhar on Tanpura and well known artist of the State Neeraj Verma on tabla.
Director School Education, GA Qureshi, was the chief guest, on the occasion, who while speaking said, the education of music culture in the children is essential and most valuable investment for any country for its prosperity and mental health growth.
This would also lead to create job opportunities for new generation keeping in view the expanding entertainment industry of India, he added.
