Vigilance presents challan against XEn, others

JAMMU, Oct 8: Vigilance Organization today presented challan against eight persons including two Executive Engineers for purchasing Flournite Concrete Hardener at highly exorbitant rates between the year 2003 to 2005.
The accused officials and private persons are Devinder Kumar Sharma, the then Executive Engineer PWD (R&B) Division Jammu, Tilak Raj Sargotra, the then Executive Engineer PWD (R&B) Division I Jammu (presently Superintending Engineer Police Housing Corporation), Mahesh Sharma, the then Assistant Accounts Officer, Suraj Kumar Bamotra, the then Assistant Accounts Officer, Supplies  Nazir Ahmed Tramboo of Rajbagh Srinagar, Alla-ud-Din Choudhary, Zia-ud-Din Choudhary and Nzair Ahmed, Prop M/s M& Co Bye Pass Road Sidhra.
According to challan, an enquiry was conducted into the allegation of purchase of Flournite Concrete Hardener on highly exorbitant rates in the year 2003-2004 by Construction Division-I Jammu revealed that in or around the month of August-September 2003 a criminal conspiracy was hatched by XEns with the contractors to purchase  Flournite Concrete Hardener at highly exorbitant rates.
In furtherance of criminal conspiracy, 50 quintals of Flournite Concrete Hardener was purchased from each of the suppliers firms at highly exorbitant rates of Rs 44 per kilograms. It was further found that a part of Flournite Concrete Hardener purchased and stocked in the stores was found to be of M/s National Tiles Works, Delhi which on September 9, 2006 confirmed the rate of Flournite Concrete Hardener as Rs 4 per kg excluding freight and taxes.
Today, after completion of investigation, Vigilance presented challan in the court of Special Judge Anticorruption Jammu.
