KATHUA, Dec 12 : MLA Kathua Rajiv Jasrotia today inaugurated blacktopping work at Ward 17. The work costs Rs 3.5 crore.
The work was started in presence of city Mandal Pardhan Vidya Sagar , Harjeet Verma, Manmohan Sharma, Narinder Kala, Jagdish Poonia, Sanjeev Vaid and BJP workers of the area.
Speaking on the occasion, MLA said that the present PDP-BJP Government headed by Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti is committed to ensure overall development of each and every corner of the State, with special focus on essential sectors like road, power, health, education and PHE. He said all the developmental initiatives will be fast paced and completed in a time bound manner. He sought cooperation from the people in ensuring speedy development of their areas and asked them to come forward and personally supervise the quality of works.
He urged the engineers to strictly maintain the quality of works as per the specifications and complete the same in a time bound manner. MLA said that road connectivity is among the top priorities of the Government and a comprehensive programme has been launched to upgrade and blacktop all the existing roads. As per the availability of material, machinery and weather conditions, all the roads will be taken up for blacktopping in a phased manner, he added.
Jasrotia said the Government is committed to ensure better infrastructural facilities to the people across the State, but it will take some more time to reach out to every corner. He asked the people to play pro-active role in the development process and update the Government about local priorities, difficulties and challenges so that a model of participative governance is evolved.
He also asked the locals to personally supervise the quality and specifications of work to ensure longevity of road. He said that this was the long pending demand of the people of the area and will give great relief to the villagers connecting by this link. He said roads are vital for development of any area, adding that every effort is being made by the Government to connect all unconnected and inaccessible areas through a road network.
