Shopkeeper held with Govt ration

JAMMU, Oct 8: City police have arrested a shopkeeper and recovered Government ration from his shop at Old Hospital Road.
Police raided the shop owned by Shamsher Singh, son of Amar Singh of Nanak Nagar at Old Hospital Road and seized 20 bags of Public Distribution System (PDS) ration, two quintals Government ration and 58 empty bags, from which he had already sold the ration.
Police said the shopkeeper was getting ration from the Government depots and selling it among the people.
A case has been registered against the shopkeeper for further investigations at City Police Station.
Police parties headed by SHO City Inspector Bishnesh Kumar made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO City Kulbir Handa.
