JAMMU, Dec 13: Gharota police worked out a theft case within couple of hours and arrested the burglar along with stolen cash.
As per police sources, a man namely Rattan Singh, son of Titru Ram, a resident of Burn lodged a complaint with police station Gharota stating that during the marriage ceremony of his son some unknown person barged into his house and took away cash around Rs 4 lakh.
Acting over the complaint, a case under FIR Number 80/16 under Section 457 and 380 RPC was registered and investigation was taken up.
During the course of investigation, police arrested the thief, who has been identified as Harjeet Singh, son of Jaswant Singh, a resident of Simbalwala.
On his disclosure, stolen Rs 3,92,500 was recovered from the accused house.
Further investigation into the case is going on.
Police team led by SHO Gharota SI Sachinder Pal Singh and assisted by SI Ravi Sharma made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO Akhnoor Gurvinder Pal Singh and SP Rural Arun Gupta.
