SAMBA, Dec 15: Minister for Industries and Commerce, Chander Parkash Ganga today paid rich tributes to Captain Bahadur Singh (Vir Chakra), who laid down his life for the integrity and sovereignty of the nation during Indo-Pak war in 1971.
The Minister laid a wreath at the memorial of Captain Bahadur Singh at his native village Chack Bhambo in Ramgarh at a function organized by the Captain Bahadur Singh Samarak Samiti.
Among others, ADDC Samba Vivek Sharma, SDM Vijaypur Ravinder Sharma other senior officers of district administration and locals of the area were present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said peace and tranquility are vital pre-requisites for achieving progress and prosperity. “The real homage one can pay to the martyrs is by creating an equitable environment for everyone to grow and gel together in a democratic atmosphere,” he added.
On the occasion, the Minister urged people to participate in the nation building process and to work together against corruption and other similar social evils to give a true tribute to the martyr.
Responding to various demands of locals, the Minister assured that all their genuine demands would be fulfilled at the earliest. Ganga also assured the people of the area that a skill development programme would be started soon to provide training to the youth for their recruitment in Army and other allied fields. He also announced installation of hand pump in the area to mitigate water scarcity.
Enumerating several initiatives of Government, the Minister exhorted upon the locals to come forward and avail the benefit of welfare schemes like Atal Bhima Yojana, Laadli Beti, UJWALA, etc.
The Minister called upon the people to extend cooperation to the Government for ensuring overall development of their areas. He also informed the gathering that various new industries are coming up in the State which would directly benefit the state in terms of generating employment for the unemployed youth.
On the occasion, the Minister distributed mementoes and cash prize to meritorious students sponsored by Shaheed Samarak Samiti.
Later, interacting with the displaced persons of partition of 1947 at Channi Fatwal, Ramgarh, the Minister said that Government would make all efforts in minimizing the difficulties of displaced persons.
