SAMBA, Dec 15: Condemning the Coalition Government for granting ex-gratia to the brother of slain militant commander, former minister and PCC general secretary Manjit Singh today said that BJP-PDP toed the line of separatists by adopting the policy of appeasement.
Former minister was speaking at village Bhambo Chak (Ramgarh) in Vijaypur constituency while paying floral tributes to the Army officer Shaheed Capt Bahadur Singh (Vr Chakra), who sacrificed his life, while fighting with Pakistan in 1971 war.
PCC leader said that the present State as well as Central Government led by PM Narendra Modi has compromised the sacrifices made by the soldiers on the borders.
“BJP has adopted a policy to appease the anti-national elements and supporters of militants which has exposed their double standard and policy which has affected national interest,” he said, adding that the decision of compensation to the brother of slain militant commander has lowered the morale of the security forces who fight for the nation.
Singh said that the Government should withdraw their decision of granting compensation and support security forces for the national interest. He further said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi led Government in Centre has misled the nation with his double policies.
“On one side, they claim the Government will not talk to Hurriyat Conference, while other side, they send a delegation led by their own senior BJP leader Yashwant Sinha to hold talks with the Hurriyat Conference. We are not against the dialogue to end the unrest in Kashmir but the Government must come clear on its stand on policy over Kashmir. Their confusion has led to the confusion among the political parties, and social organizations as nothing is clear. If they want to hold talk, they should disclose clearly and back the dialogue process,”  Singh suggested.
