JAMMU, Dec 16: National Secular Forum (NSF) has alleged flouting and mending of norms by Jammu University (JU) authorities to facilitate  appointment of their blue-eyed persons on various posts.
Addressing a press conference, here today, NSF president Dr Vikas Sharma questioned the screening criteria adopted by The Business School (TBS)  for the posts of Assistant Professor and alleged that the same has been done  to extend undue advantage to blue-eyed persons. “The Screening Criteria is unjust and not disclosed at the time of advertising the post. It has been adopted by TBS arbitrarily to ensure ouster of several deserving candidates in the short listing. And, the whole process is being completed in haste as the incumbent Director is retiring  on Dec 31, 2016,” he said.
While elaborating, Vikas said that the advertisement was issued 14 months ago i.e. 16/10/2015 and there was no mention about the Selection Criteria but all of sudden that came into being and framed in such a manner that a candidate having PhD or NET qualified is left out whereas UGC guidelines clearly say that candidate having PhD or NET is eligible. “In the selection criteria, marks have been allotted for NET+JRF, NET+PhD, NET+MPhil+PhD but candidates having PhD or NET alone have not been allotted marks. It clearly indicates of  attempts   to give edge to blue-eyed person,” he added/
The NSF leader also questioned the hurriedness shown by the TBS in concluding the selection process before December 31, 2016  as the process was stalled since a year but gained momentum only at this juncture. “This itself raises doubt over the intention of the persons at the helm of affairs. The objections sought by the candidates and their disposal were concluded in just three days  and that too without giving adequate publicity hence denying chance to the candidates to respond,” he alleged and sought the intervention of Chancellor’s office into the matter.
