JAMMU, Dec 16: Minister of Cooperatives Tsering Dorjey, BJP State president & MLA Sat Sharma and Additional Registrar, Cooperatives Anjana Tickoo, addressed one day “Awareness Camp of the Cooperative Movement at Jammu”.
It was jointly organized by Jammu & Kashmir Cooperative Union Limited and BJP Cooperative Cell.
Sat Sharma, in his address, said that the motive to organize this “awareness camp” was to make people aware about the benefits of the cooperatives and also different schemes launched by the Narendra Modi led NDA Government as well as BJP Coalition Government in the State under Cooperatives. There is vast scope of Cooperatives in all the three regions of the State and the Government should explore various ways and means to strengthen the Cooperative Movement. He said that cooperatives play very important role in a society and it is imperative that the Government as well as the civil society work towards reaching the people and extending help so that the Cooperative Movement becomes the mass movement. He said that Gujarat has set a model in Cooperative Sector, which needs to be followed and adopted in Jammu & Kashmir.
Tsering Dorjey, while addressing the camp, said that the problem of unemployment can be tackled to great extent through cooperatives. More and more unemployed youth should get themselves registered with Cooperative Society to generate employment opportunities in the State and also be in a position to earn their own livelihood besides helping the others. He also spoke on various activities being undertaken by different units of the Cooperatives in the state. He assured to take every effective step to ensure that the cooperatives in the State flourish and prove beneficial for the people.
BJP Cooperative Cell State Convenor, H.S. Pummy, while expressing gratitude to the participants, said that similar joint camps will be organized in other districts of the State to aware masses about the benefits of the cooperative.
