Freight rates up on hike in diesel prices

NEW DELHI, Dec 17:  Freight rates for nine-tonne pay load section enquired higher by Rs 1,000 at the local truck transport market today following a hike in diesel prices.
Transporters said pick-up in cargo movements against tight position of trucks, supported the upside in freight rates.
Delhi to Hyderabad, Vijaywada, Mumbai, Pune and Kolkata freight rates moved up by Rs 58,000, Rs 60,000, Rs 30,000, Rs 32,000 and Rs 33,000, respectively.
Rates to Chennai, Mysore, Bengaluru and Kochi went up by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 68,000, Rs 70,000, Rs 65,000 and Rs 81,000, respectively.
