RAMBAN, Dec 17: District Police under the aegis of Civic Action Programme organized a wrestling competition at Sangaldan in Gool Sub Division today.
Around 50 wrestlers of the area participated in the competition in which Additional SP Ramban Mushtaq Ahmed Choudhary was the chief guest, whereas Bashir Ahmed Lone, SDM Gool was guest of honour.
A total of 25 bouts in different categories were played between the wrestlers. In the final bout, Mohan Singh of Sawalkot and Dheeraj Singh of Dharam shared the first prize.
The local people of Sangaldan area said that organizing traditional Dangal will go a long way in the preserving this traditional game and spirit of sports.
Vipan Chandran, DySP Operations Gool, Garu Ram, DySP IRP 9th Battalion, Gulzar Ahmed, Tehsildar Gool, Inspector Mohammad Ameen, SHO Gool police station, Anuroop Sharma, SHO police station Dhamkund, SI Yashpal, Incharge Sangaldan police post, besides a large number of people from all walks were also present on the occasion.
The wrestling competition was organized under the supervision of SSP Ramban Randeep Kumar.
