JAMMU, Dec 19: Demand-ing implementation of 7th Pay Commission, release of pending salary, revocation of Government order on screening test of ReTs, etc, activists of J&K United School Teachers Association (USTA) held a strong protest here today.
Led by Hari Singh, provincial president of USTA, the teachers assembled near Press Club and held the demonstration amidst raising of slogans in support of their all demands.
They were also demanding adjustment of Masters whose DPC was made in Feb-2014, modification in irrational, arbitrary and normless transfer orders of Masters made before ban on transfers, implementation of transfer policy in favour of Regularized ReT teachers, release of senior teacher grade in favour of trained under graduate teachers, enhancement in salary of non-regularized ReTs from Rs 3000/- to Rs 15000/- per month, filling up vacant posts of Teachers /Masters /Head-Masters /Lecturers, confirmation of all Lectures/Head-Masters/ZEO’s and Principals working in their own pay & scale, Pre-Primary classes in all schools having primary classes by proving staff and infrastructure and replacing New Pension Scheme with the Old Pension Scheme.
While addressing the protesters, speakers strongly condemn the State Government over the lackadaisical and non serious attitude towards the just and genuine long pending demands of teaching community. “It is highly deplorable that the salaries of teachers are not being released in time and delayed inordinately for months and even years together for defeating the purpose for which these salaries are meant,” they said.
USTA appealed the Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti to intervene into the matter and direct concerned authorities to concede the demands to avoid any further confrontation. USTA also appealed the other trade unions of teaching community to come on joint platform to force the Government to concede just and genuine long pending demands. Those who address the protestors, included Rajeev Kumar, Kanta Jamwal, Dr Shashi Paul Singh, Roop Lal, Angat Singh, , Pardeep Singh, Siraju-Din, Raj Kumar, Ashok Kumar, Balwant Singh, Kishori Lal and Madan Singh.
