This has reference to the news item ‘India win Jr Hockey World Cup’ DE Dec 19.
The Indian hockey colts have done a superb job by winning the title after scoring their victory against a formidable opponent. The victory will give a further boost to Indian hockey which is showing positive trends these days. The Indian Hockey today is again a force to reckon with. If it is not overwhelmed with complacency, it will achieve the glorious days once again. The winning streek will revive the game in the country.
There is a good fan following of hockey, but the fans are disappointed at the way hockey is treated by the sports organisations and the State Governments. The interest of the country is in cricket as it fetches a handsome money for the organisers and the players. Wish the Hockey reclaims its prestigious position in the country once again.
