SAMBA, Dec 20: Retired Policemen from district Samba held protest in support of their demands at Vijaypur town today.
The retired State Government employees under the banner of All J&K Retd Police, NGO & Others Welfare Forum led by Ajit Singh assembled at Vijaypur town during the day and held protest demonstration. They were shouting slogans in support of their demands.
They raised the point that Govt order No. 229-F of 2014, dated October 17, 2014, was not acceptable regarding pay anomalies since the effect is being given prospective , which means the affect will be given from the date of order. They said that with the implementation of this order, lot of injustice has been done with the retired persons.
They further demanded enhancement of Medical Allowance of the employees and pensioners from Rs 300 to Rs 3000 per month; cashless health care policy in favour of retired Police personnel on the pattern of Army and Paramilitary force personnel.
They also projected the demand of 15 % preservation for the wards of Police Personnel in the police jobs and also for admission to the professional colleges. The retired cops demanded that at least Rs 50,000 should be sanctioned at the time of death of a retired police person for performing last rites out of Police Welfare Fund. The issues of one rank one pension pattern in the State police department and removal of pay anomalies in the grades of ASI and HCs were also projected during the protest.
After brief protest , they dispersed. Later a memorandum was also submitted to the Deputy Commissioner. Prominent among those present on the occasion included- District president Samba, Raghubir Singh, Karan Singh Triloki Nath Kaul, Balwant singh, Mohd Sharief, Ashok Kumar, Krishan Singh, Jagdish Raj, Devi Dass and Sandal Singh.
