JAMMU, Dec 21: To bring vibrancy in the functioning of Jammu and Kashmir Projects Construction Corporation (JKPCC), Minister for Public Works and Parliamentary Affairs, Abdul Rehman Veeri today asked the Corporation management to formulate a plan for its overall restructuring and submit a comprehensive proposal in this regard in next meeting of the Board of Directors.
Veeri was speaking at 92nd meeting of the Board of Directors of the Corporation here today.
The meeting was attended by Financial Commissioner Planning Development & Monitoring, B B Vyas, Commissioner Secretary Higher Education, Dr Asgar Samoon, Commissioner Secretary Finance, Navin Kumar Chowdhary, Commissioner Secretary PWD, Rohit Kansal, MD JKPCC Daleep Thusoo, Chief Engineer R&B Kashmir, Sheikh Hameed, Chief Engineer R&B Jammu Alok Mengi, Nayeem Ahmed Executive Director JKPCC, Company Secretary JKPCC Neeru Chadha and other senior officers of JKPCC.
The meeting also decided to restructure delegation of contract powers of different officers and committees of JKPCC.
The meeting was informed that recently the financial powers in respect of various committees and category of officers of JKPCC have been reviewed by virtue of Govt Order no: 233-F of 2016 for R&B wing of the department.
Veeri asked the JKPCC to ensure procurement/allotment process is absolutely fair and competitive. He impressed upon the officers to ensure contract guidelines are followed in letter and spirit. All the Deputy Managers were instructed to ensure implementation of decisions of BoD regarding methodology of execution of works.
On the request of MD JKPCC, meeting gave green signal to the proposal of advertising various non-gazetted posts. However, the Board issued strict instructions to follow a set procedure and ensure transparency in the hiring process.
The Board of Directors also accorded sanction to Rs 1.50 lakh ex-gratia in favour of two casual employees working with JKPCCC as medical help. The meeting also discussed in detail the status of works being executed in different educational institutions and health centers.
The BoD also approved the request of hiring machines and asked the JKPCC officials to formulate the list of required machines on the basis of financial strength of the Corporation.
