UDHAMPUR, Dec 22: A Village Defence Committee (VDC) member shoot himself with his 303 rifle under mysterious circumstances at forest area near village Jangal Gali in Tikri, here last night.
The deceased VDC member was identified as Puran Singh (46), son of Suraj Singh of village Jangal Gali. He shot himself with 303 gun late last night and died on the spot.
On being informed by locals, a police team from Tikri reached the spot and shifted the dead body to hospital for postmortem and other legal formalities.
A case has been registered in this connection for further investigation.
