Govt employees declare strike on Jan 3, 4

JAMMU, Dec 22:  The employees of various Govt Departments and Corporations have decided to observe complete strike under joint platform on January 3 and 4, 2017.
Declaring the decision of the  general council of J&K Govt Employees, Casual Labours, Workers & Pensioners United Platform (JKGECWPUP), senior members Mohd Gafoor Dar, Kulwant Singh, Subash Chander, Akhil Sharma, Ghulam Rasool, Nazir Ahmed Molvi, Tanveer Hussain and others said that employees’ bodies have resolved to    observe two day Kam Chhor Hartal on January 3 and 4 throughout  the State.
They alleged that Govt has not bothered to address the pending issues of the employees and workers despite repeated representations and protest dharnas. Gafoor Dar said that on first day of the strike protest rallies will be held at all the district headquarters and district heads of the Front will submit to the memoranda to the respective Deputy Commissioners for the Govt while on January 4, after observing strike the employees/ workers/ pensioners  shall hold strong protest rallies at Jammu and Srinagar cities.
Dar further said that on January 3, the massive rally will be held outside the office of Divisional Commissioner, Jammu at Rail Head complex while on January 4, in Jammu province,  the rally will be held at Press Club. The major issues of the employees/ workers included framing of regularization policy and implementation of 7th Pay commission in the State.
