JAMMU, Dec 25: Social Movement of India (SMI) today organized a “Manu Samriti Dehan Programme” here at Ambedker Chowk.
Addressing the mammoth gathering on the occasion, SMI office bearers expressed that Social Movement of India (SMI) is committed to the cause of Phuley-Shahu-Ambedkrite Movement and the total thrust would be on the finding a solution for emancipation of the Mulnivasi Bahujans in India from “Manuwadi Socio-Religious System”.
Advocate Ashok Kumar Basotra expressed that theirs is a great movement because its objective change present socio-religious system is great. Hem Raj Phonsa, a social activist, thinker and writer alleged that the Legislature, Executive, judiciary and the media are, by and large, controlled by the upper castes in this country and all of them work against the interests of common masses viz. SCs, STs, OBCs & Converted Minorities from these communities as the so called upper castes want to secure and safeguard their own interests in all the religions.
He further expressed that the victim masses are 91% of the total population of India from amongst all the religions, and the oppressor castes are just a micro minority of merely 9% of the total population of India. Despite that, the so called upper castes manage and occupy all the vital posts in the Legislature, Executive, judiciary and Media of this Country and instead of doing welfare of masses, they just perpetuate injustice and ruin their future for their own narrow interests and interest of their community only.
The SMI further expressed that the time has come that ultimately Aboriginal Indigenous Indians should leave no stone unturned to unite all the victims of this Socio-Religious system throughout the country cutting across all the lines of Varnas, Castes, Religions, Regions, Languages etc. and an organization with Phuley-Ambedkrite ideology must lead the movement to confront against this Manuwadi system.
