JAMMU, Dec 25 : All J&K ReT Teachers’ Forum today demanded the Government to release 6 months pending salary of SSA teachers and regularization of ReT teachers.
The issues came up for discussion during a monthly meeting of All J&K ReT Teachers’ Forum held here at Exhibition Ground Jammu under the chairmanship of State president, Vinod Sharma. The meeting was attended by executive members of Forum.
While speaking on the occasion, Sharma lambasted the State Education department for its failure to pay more than 6 months’ salary of thousands of SSA teachers of the State thereby forcing the families of these teachers to live in miserable condition. He said that families of these teachers are on the verge of starvation.
“Though Education Minister had assured two years back that he will streamline the SSA salary within 6 months but the ground reality after two years is that SSA teachers are in verge of starvation and there is no word from Education Minister as to when he’s going to streamline SSA salary and relieving these teachers from this chronic problem”, he said.
Sharma appealed the Chief Minister and Finance Minister to intervene in this matter and provisions be made to release the salaries of SSA teachers. He also demanded that SSA posts be brought under State plan so that this chronic problem of SSA salary be resolved forever.
The Forum members also appealed the Director School Education Jammu to issue the regularization list of ReTs whose files are gathering dust in the Directorate for many months.
Meanwhile, the executive body of the Forum threatened to Gherao Assembly during upcoming Assembly session if their salaries are not released immediately and for this step the department would be personally responsible.
