Agni 5, India’s longest range & indigenously developed nuclear capable missile, test launched off Odisha coast

Indigenously developed intercontinental surface-to-surface nuclear capable missile can hit targets in north China.

The Agni 5 ballistic missile with a range of 6000 km is being readied for a crucial user trial from Wheeler Island off Odisha coast today.

The indigenously developed intercontinental surface-to-surface nuclear capable missile can hit targets in north China. If the test is successful, the missile will become part of the Indian military arsenal and restore some of the missile balance that is in China’s favour.

Agni 5 would be a three stage solid fueled missile with composite motor casing in the third stage. Agni 5 will be able to carry multiple warheads and would also display countermeasures against anti-ballistic missile systems. ( Agencies)
