KISHTWAR, Dec 27: Civil Society, Kishtwar today demanded the State Government to establish a sports stadium in the district.
The demand was raised during a meeting of Civil Society held here today, which was also attended by senior Congress leader and member, Civil Society, Kishtwar, Shamsher Singh Bhandari.
While addressing the meeting, Bhandari said that to give boost to the sports activities in the district and to harness the sports potential of the talented youth of Kishtwar, establishment of a sports stadium in Kishtwar is imperative. He sought the intervention of Ministry of Youth, Services and Sports to bring in place a concrete plan for the sports stadium
The meeting also stressed for functioning of an Air Strip in Kishtwar, citing the distant location of district Kishtwar from Jammu and Srinagar cities. The members also demanded installation of Flood/Road lights right from Hasti to Malipeth, Kishtwar for smooth vehicular traffic movement during night.
