LC Chairman, Speaker review arrangements for Budget Session

JAMMU, Dec 28: Chairman Legislative Council, Haji Anayat Ali and Speaker Legislative Assembly Kavinder Gupta, today convened separate meetings with the officers  from Police and Civil Administration to discuss the arrangements put in place for  forthcoming Budget Session commencing from January 2, 2017.
Special Director General of Police (Coordination and Law and Order) Dr. S P Vaid, Additional Director General Security, Dilbagh Singh, Inspector General of Police Security, Jagjit Kumar, IGP Jammu Danish Rana, IG Traffic S A Watali, Director Estates Dr G N Itoo, Director Information Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary,  Dy Director Information Avleen Kour and other senior officers were present in the meetings.
Threadbare discussions were held on different issues regarding security and other related matters
They directed all the concerned departments to work in tandem and strictly adhere to the decisions taken in the meeting, especially the ones related to security.
It was informed that all necessary arrangements have been put in place where-in adequate security staff has been deployed within the premises to facilitate smooth entry of the legislators and media-persons. Besides, provisions have also been made to setup additional mobile X-Ray screening security system inside the complex for secondary screening of small bags, brief cases and other paraphernalia to ensure fool-proof arrangements for safety and security.
Besides, security plan for MLA hostel, circuit house and ministerial accommodations were also discussed. It was informed that gazetted officers will be deployed at both hostel complex and circuit house to liaison with the legislators’ security detail and security agencies.
The Speaker directed the Health Department to also provide a fully equipped ambulance at the MLA hostel besides the Assembly complex.
Meanwhile, Speaker Legislative Assembly convened a meeting with the representatives of the media, both print and electronic, to discuss and review the arrangements made for smooth coverage of the Budget Session
Speaker sought cooperation from the media fraternity for fair and comprehensive coverage of the Budget Session. Stressing on adhering to the security guidelines laid down by the concerned agencies, he said certain restrictions on traffic movement are being imposed to ensure safety of all the concerned and to make sure that hassle-free security arrangements are put in place.
He urged the media-persons not to use mobile phones in the press gallery either for making calls or recording videos of the proceedings.
