Three-day eye camp by Rotary Club concludes

UDHAMPUR, Dec 28: A three-day eye camp started on December 26 to provide ‘Gift of Sight’ to the patients belongs to weaker sections of the society, concluded today.
On 2nd day of the camp, more than 60 patients were operated and 60 were still to be operated. The patients were screened at Aghar Jitto and Reasi and parts of the Udhampur district, and were operated by Dr Ankur Goel (Ophthalmic Surgeon) and Dr Richa Muldiyar (Ophth Surgeon).
The camp was organized by Rotary Club Udhampur in collaboration with Rotary Eye & ENT Hospital Udhampur and District Blindness Control Society. The camp was organized for prevention of blindness and supported by Arjun Mahajan, a citizen of USA.
Meanwhile, a function was held in Conference Hall of Rotary Eye & ENT Hospital Udhampur. PDG, Dr Meena Patel, RI District, 6650 USA was the chief guest and Dr Chander Parkash, CMO Udhampur, was the guest of honour.
While speaking on the occasion, the chief guest appreciated the efforts of Rotary Club Udhampur and assured his full support to the organization in future for prevention of blindness so that poor people of the area may not lose their vision for lack of eye care facility.
Members of Rotary Club who attended the function were VS Raja, Kamal Gupta, S Kerni, Rajeev Gupta, Surjeet Singh, Col Hargovind Singh, Rajendra Sanson, Puran Lal Sharma, Geeta Raja, Manju Sharma and Shamita Mahajan, Sakshi Mahajan and Rajeev Mahajan from USA.
