SMVDU organizes National Seminar on ‘Demonetization of Currency and Indian Economy’

KATRA, Dec 28: One day National Seminar on “Demonetization of Currency and Indian Economy” was organized by the Department of Economics, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU), Kakryal, here today. The chief guest cum Key Note Speaker for this seminar was Prof Rajender Gupta, Dean Faculty of Social Science, University of Jammu.
He shared his views regarding demonetization and its impact on different sectors of the economy.
The Organizing Secretary of the seminar, Dr. Roop Lal Sharma welcomed the participants and enlightened them about the pros and cons of demonetization on various economic variables and entities and provided information regarding the seminar.
Prof D. Mukhopadhyay encouraged the participants to exploit the opportunity and discussed the impact of demonetization on Indian Economy.
Adding to the details about the program, there were two Technical Sessions chaired by Dr. Kuldeep Raj and Dr. Sandeep Bhougal where the participants presented their research papers.
Various topics were discussed during this seminar which included Federal Fiscal Structure in India, Role of information in Consumer Decision Making Process of buying ACs, Money Supply in India: Issues and Challenges etc. A large number of papers were presented during the two technical sessions by participants both from the SMVD University as well as from various other institutions such as Jammu University, DDE Jammu, and GDC Udhampur etc. This one day national seminar ended on a very informative and productive note as various economic problems were discussed by the participants. The formal vote of thanks was presented by Dr. Saurabh Srivastava.
The seminar concluded with the certificate distribution among all the participants.
