SRINAGAR, Oct 10: A Power Development Department (PDD) lineman was electrocuted while fixing a transmission line in Kangan area.
A police spokesman said that a PDD Lineman Farooq Ahmad Sheikh, son of Sikandar Sheikh resident of Kangan was electrocuted while fixing a transmission line at Kangan. He died on spot.
Following the incident some of the locals staged protests against the negligence of PDD. The protesters blocked the National Highway. Police exercising maximum restrained, chased away the protesters and the road traffic on the National Highway was restored. No one was hurt in the incident.
