KATHUA, Jan 5: In a tragic road accident a biker was killed at College road Kathua this afternoon while two motor cycle borne youth were injured at Palli near here this evening after hitting an army vehicle.
According to police a biker identified as Rishavm Khajuria S/o Narsingh Dayal who was on his way from his Patel Nagar Ward No 15 residence to the town was killed after his bike was hit by a car and later crushed to death by a supper Fast bus which was coming from behind in high speed.
The people of the town assembled at the accident spot and expressed grave resentment on mismanagement of the authorities who have failed to construct speed breakers on busy college road. They said this was the main cause of the accidents in the area.
They demanded immediate construction of the speed breakers on the road.
Police shifted the dead body to District Hospital Kathua for postmortem and after that it was handed over to family members for cremation.
The Kathua Police has registered a case under Section 304 CRPC and seized the car. However the bus driver fled after the accident.
In another accident the two youth on a bike hit an army vehicle from behind at Pali and were injured seriously. They were shifted by Police to District Hospital Kathua for treatment where their condition is stated to be critical.
The duo was identified as Roshan Lal of Ward Number 17 Kathua and Rinkoo of village Tholiti. The Kathua police has registered a case under section 279/337 CRPC against the duo.
