Navy’s missile warship catches fire

NEW DELHI: Fire broke out in a missile corvette of the Indian Navy at Naval dockyard in Mumbai today.  The fire in one of the compartment of INS Pralay, which was described as “minor”, was brought under control with no injury reported after the incident, sources in the Navy said here.

“At around 1140 hrs, an incident of minor fire in the Gyro compartment of the warship was reported. The fire was controlled by by ship’s staff and Dockyard fire station. There has been no injury to anybody,” a Navy official said.

The fire in 1241 RE class vessel probably started during the welding work, said the officials. (AGENCIES)
