Members raise issues of public importance

JAMMU, Jan 12: Various Members today raised issues of public importance in the Legislative Council during Zero Hour.
Surinder Kumar Choudhary demanded that sufficient ration be provided to the border shelling victims in Nowshera. He said three months free ration was sanctioned in favour of the victims, however, only one month’s ration has been provided to them so far.
Naresh Kumar Gupta demanded early restoration of power supply disrupted because of recent snowfall in areas of Gandoh and Bhaderwah.
Jugal Kishore Sharma also sought immediate restoration of power supply and road connectivity in the areas of Patnitop and Sanasar.
Sajad Kichloo said helicopter services should be started in the areas like Marwah Wadwan and Dachan that are disconnected from the rest of the State due to heavy snowfall.
Yasir Reshi demanded for fulfilling the promise of providing a new Medical Block for Sumbal, Sonawari. He also requested the Health Minister to undertake a visit of the area to acquaint himself with various issues of the people.
Ramesh Arora impressed for improving infrastructure in Government schools. Besides, he also asked for regular monitoring and necessary renovation works of school buildings. He also demanded adjustment of students from city chowk Girls schools to Centre Basic School.
Sham Lal Bhagat raised the demand of people for providing flour in Doda and Ramban districts.
Bashir Ahmad Veeri asked for immediate renovation of Sadoora bridge that was damaged due to floods in 2014.
Vibodh Gupta asked for providing compensation to Rajouri victim that were affected due to recent group clashes.
Showkat Ganai demanded for introducing subjects of Geography, English and Psychology at Degree College Shopian.
Ajat Shatru Singh asked for opening of de-addiction centres in Jammu. He also stressed for organizing drugs related awareness programmes in schools and colleges of the State.
Khursheed Alam called for immediate issuance of ration cards to the consumers.
Zaffar Iqbal Manhas asked for immediate restoration of power supply disrupted due to recent snowfall in far flung areas, besides, timely distribution of ration supply.
Ghulam Nabi Monga asked for early distribution of ration cards in districts of Baramulla and Kupwara.
Shahnaz Ganai urged for introduction of Science stream in Higher Secondary School, Saujian in district Poonch.
Surinder Amberdar demanded for providing ration to non-relief category migrants.
Ashok Khujaria asked for repairing of road from Kunjwani Chowk to Bishnah and early completion of bridge on this road.
Master Noor Hussain urged for early recruitment of Urdu teachers for educational institutions in Poonch, Rajouri and Kathua districts. Saiffudin Bhat demanded for restoration and repair of street lights on Boulevard Road.
