TCS selects 41 engineering students from SMVDU

KATRA, Oct 12: Continuing its tradition of recruiting engineering students of high quality, TCS recently re-visited Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University, for selecting engineering students from the current batch.  SMVDU is an accredited partner of TCS and the company has been regularly visiting SMVDU since it has found the students up to their standards.
Despite the slowdown in the IT sector, TCS selected a total of 41 B.Tech students for recruitment from the current batch thus signaling the start of Campus Recruitment 2013 program at SMVDU.  The students passed through a rigorous on-line written test followed by multiple interview sessions.  The team-coordinator from TCS was extremely pleased with the selections made and expressed his appreciation of the facilities at SMVDU.
Prof Bamezai, Vice-Chancellor, SMVDU congratulated the selected students and said that the university is continuing towards its objective of preparing manpower of high quality and integrity in the field of Engineering, Sciences, Management & Humanities.
He said that the university is concerned about providing opportunities to the trained and talented students of the region so that they are placed with the best organizations in the country.  Hence a pool campus of TCS was conducted in SMVDU wherein 16 students of GCET Jammu were also placed.  Prof Bamezai also complimented the T&P Faculty & Student Coordinators, Placement Officer SMVDU and the volunteers for the good show.  He further stressed that the students should prepare for other placement opportunities which are expected to materialize shortly.
BK Bhatia, Placement Officer SMVDU said that companies like TCS, HCL, Capgemini, Syntel etc. who recruited 107 students last year are also expected to visit SMVDU for Campus Recruitment this year.
