Father-daughter booked in cheating case

UDHAMPUR, Oct 12: Police has registered a case of fraud and cheating against father-daughter on the directions of Chief Judicial Magistrate.
Police spokesman said that one Rameshwar Sharma, son of Sham Lal Sharma, an employee of Military Engineering Services (MES) posted at Udhampur lodged a written complaint to IG Crime against Prem Nath, son of Kamlu of Rathian Udhampur and his daughter Neeshu Rani, who is a student of Jammu Institute of Ayurveda and Sciences, Kot Bhalwal.
In the complaint, it has been mentioned that Neeshu Rani was getting scholarship from Social Welfare Department by producing false documents thus putting burden on State exchequer.
During investigation, allegations leveled by Rameshwar Sharma turned to be true and after that IG Crime made a recommendation to SSP Udhmapur to register case against duo but Udhampur police did nothing in this regard and started delaying the case on one pretext or the other.
Aggrieved with the behavior of Udhampur Police, Rameshwar Sharma approached court, which directed SHO Police Station Udhampur to register a case in the matter. Accordingly, Police registered FIR No.331/2012 under Section 420/467/4 68/471/402/1 98/34 RPC.
