Chose dedicated candidates for Block Dev Councils : MP

RAMBAN, Oct 13 : Giving a clarion call for strengthening of grass-root governance through the Panchayati Raj Institutions(PRIs) as envisaged by the father of the Nation,Mahatma Gandhi and implemented by the former Prime Minister, late Rajiv Gandhi, Member Parliament, Choudhry Lal Singh exhorted the Panches and Sarpanches of Ramban to chose educated, dedicated, committed and sincere candidate for the Block Development Council (BDC).
Addressing the Sarpanches, Panches, Congress workers and the residents of Chanderkot, Rajgarh,Jatgali,Sawni and Kadma in Ramban district today.
The MP advised the voters of BDC election to first unanimously select a deserving candidate and then back him unitedly to ensure his election as the Chairman of the BDC.
Cautioning them to see through the intentions of those parties who have been reluctant to implement 73rd constitutional amendment, Lal Singh called upon them to ignore them to give a befitting reply.
Resenting the delay in the completion of the projects initiated  during the regime of the former Chief Minister and now Union Health Minister,Ghulam Nabi Azad in the Ramban district, he blamed the concerned bureaucrats for it.
He regretted the attitude of the National Conference-a ruling coalition partner over 73rd and 74th amendment issues.
MLA, Ramban, Ashok Kumar also spoke on the occasion.
Lal Singh patiently heard the demands and grievances of many Sarpanches and Panches and assured them early redressal.
Narinder Kour, Abdul Rashid Kohistani, Mohd Arif Salaria, Janak Singh and Preetam Singh also addressed.
