3 bovine smugglers held

JAMMU, Oct 13: Police today arrested three bovine smugglers and rescued 49 bovine animals near Digdol area in district Ramban.
Police spokesman said that, on specific inputs, police party from Ramban Police Station laid a naka at Digdol, and intercepted three Srinagar bound trucks bearing registration numbers JK02AC-0797, JK14D-4519 and JK02W-9196.
During search, the trucks were found loaded with 49 bovine animals. The police arrested three smugglers identified as Mohd Hafiz, son of Abdul Rashid of Kashat Chaman, district Kupwara, Mohd Ashraf, son of Ghulam Nabi and Mirza Khan, son of Abdul Gani Gujjar, both residents of Talwara, Reasi.
The vehicles have been seized and cases under Sections 188 RPC, 3 PCA Act were registered at Police Station Ramban.
